The Curse of the “Blood Countess”
The Mysterious Blood Incident in Italy
During a party in London, we met an Italian man named Edoardo. That encounter marked the beginning of a story that would later unfold in ways I could never have imagined.
Some time after returning to Japan, I received a call from Edoardo. His voice was serious as he spoke over the phone.
”I have a lifelong friend named Giovanni who lives near my town. About twenty years ago, something unbelievable happened in his house. It was an inexplicable and mysterious event. Noah, I need you to come to Italy to help uncover the truth.”
This was how the story began to take an unexpected turn.
When I told Noah about Edoardo’s proposal, he remained silent for a while, as if he was processing something beyond words.
Several months later, we flew to Italy.
Upon our arrival, Edoardo introduced us to his friend Giovanni, and we wasted no time in starting the session.
Since I couldn’t speak Italian, Edoardo acted as our interpreter. I spoke in English, and he translated my words into Italian for Giovanni.
Noah asked Giovanni, “I heard something unbelievable happened. Could you tell us exactly what occurred?”
Giovanni’s expression darkened as he slowly began to recount his story.
”It happened about twenty years ago. Suddenly, an enormous amount of blood started gushing out inside my house. The locations included the walls and floors of my mother’s bedroom on the second floor, the hallway, and even the bathroom walls and floors. The blood seemed to pour out of nowhere, like a fountain. It was a massive amount—enough to fill three buckets. Shocked and terrified, I had the blood analyzed at three different laboratories since my younger brother was an obstetrician. The results confirmed that it was human blood—specifically, a woman’s blood. We immediately called a priest to perform an exorcism. He told us, ‘This is the work of a demonic curse,’ and advised us not to share the story with outsiders. He likely feared that if the media got involved, it would cause an uproar in our small town. To this day, no one understands why it happened. I’ve spent years wondering what truly took place. When Edoardo told me about Noah, I thought you might be able to uncover something. Thank you so much for coming all this way.”
Noah listened quietly to Giovanni’s story and then said, “First, let me take a look at your energy. On your right side, I see a large ‘eye’—a consicousness of some sort. This is a very powerful curse. That’s the root of the problem.”
The atmosphere grew tense as the session deepened.
Giovanni, both anxious and expectant, placed his palms onto Noah’s palms and closed his eyes. I noticed Noah’s expression gradually turn grim, as if he were witnessing something profoundly disturbing.
Eventually, he spoke.
”I see something about your ancestry. Many of your ancestors were long-lived and beautiful. Because of this, rumors spread in your town that your family might be a lineage of vampires. To dispel these rumors and protect the family name, one of your ancestors chose to become a clergyman. However, this was during the height of witch hunts. Ironically, he was assigned the role of an inquisitor, judging so-called ‘witches.’ Many of the women he sentenced to death were ordinary, innocent women. Despite that, he condemned them to execution. This act of taking the lives of countless women left a deep karmic stain on your bloodline. The fear and madness these women experienced at the moment of their deaths—those dark energies remain deeply embedded in your lineage.”
Giovanni gasped and murmured, “Such a tragic past…”
Noah continued, “I need to see the actual locations where the blood poured out.”
We went to Giovanni’s house, a two-story building with light orange walls. Upon entering, a staircase stood directly in front of us. The second floor was where the phenomenon had occurred, so we ascended the stairs.
Walking through the hallway, Giovanni pointed to a room on the right and said, “This was my late mother’s bedroom. The blood gushed from the walls and floor in this room, as well as the hallway and the bathroom ahead. The blood even seeped out from between the floor tiles, unstoppable.”
Noah carefully examined each location, performing purification as he went. Then, he turned to Giovanni and said, “This house has a basement, doesn’t it? We need to go down there. The root of the problem lies beneath.”
Guided by Giovanni, we descended the stairs into the basement, which was arranged like a family lounge with sofas, bookshelves, and a television.
Noah paused, scanning the room. He then slowly walked toward the far right wall, where a section of the wall protruded unnaturally. He stared at it for a long time before speaking.
”I see young women, around 14 to 18 years old—about twenty of them. One of your ancestors murdered these women. He might have been suffering from a terminal illness, possibly diabetes. He believed that drinking young women’s blood would serve as a cure. He kidnapped them, killed them, and bathed in or consumed their blood. Their bodies were buried within this wall—right where it protrudes. The reason why blood erupted from your home’s walls and floors was because the immense sorrow and resentment of these murdered women became so strong that it physically manifested as blood. They desperately wanted someone to understand their suffering.”
Noah closed his eyes, standing still for a while before speaking again.
”A noble woman has just appeared beside me. She told me, ‘Noah, we have been waiting for you for hundreds of years. You have come to end this ‘chain of blood and sorrow’. Now that you understand, everything will be okay. Thank you. And then, she vanished.”
That noblewoman was none other than the infamous ‘Blood Countess,’ Elizabeth Báthory of Hungary.
Báthory was notorious for murdering young women, drinking their blood, and even bathing in it. It is said she killed around 600 women, burying their bodies within her castle.
Bathory drank human blood, and as a result, her family was feared by people as vampires. Later, her family fled to Italy. In Italy, rumors spread that the surname “Bathory” was associated with vampires, so they changed their name to an Italian-style surname to continue living there. The family that carries this Italianized surname is the Giovanni family.
Thus, the Giovanni lineage was the descendant of the infamous Blood Countess.
Giovanni then began to speak to Noah about his siblings.
”I am the eldest of three brothers. My younger brother was an obstetrician, but he passed away in a traffic accident about fifteen years ago. However, the circumstances surrounding his death were extremely strange. At the accident scene, bystanders quickly called an ambulance, but for some reason, it took an unusually long time to arrive. In the meantime, I reached the scene myself. At first glance, his injuries didn’t seem severe, yet he was bleeding profusely. The most bizarre part was that blood kept pouring from his mouth, as if he were drowning in his own blood. Given the extent of the accident, his injuries should not have been fatal… But his death was undoubtedly unnatural.”
Noah listened in silence before finally speaking.
”Your ancestors were responsible for the deaths of many women during the witch hunts, drinking their blood. That karma influenced your brother’s final moments. The way he died—drowning in his own blood—was a form of atonement for the sins of your lineage.”
Giovanni’s face showed a flicker of surprise, but he soon nodded deeply.
”I see… When you put it that way, it makes sense. My brother’s death was a form of penance for our bloodline.”
Giovanni continued speaking.
”There was another shocking event during my brother’s funeral. Despite being a well-earning obstetrician, he often claimed he had no money. I thought he was joking, but in reality, he lived a modest life, and no one knew what he spent his earnings on. However, on the day of his funeral, over a thousand women attended. The line stretched outside—it was an unbelievable sight. My brother was single, had never married, and I had never heard of him having a romantic partner. So, I had no idea why so many women had come to pay their respects. Curious, I approached some of them and asked about their relationship with my brother. The answers I received stunned me.
My brother had been persuading women who came to his clinic seeking abortions to reconsider. For those who could not afford to raise a child, he provided financial support out of his own pocket. Many of these women were not only helped financially but also emotionally supported by him. They deeply appreciated what he had done for them, and out of gratitude, they gathered to bid him farewell. Given how many women he had supported, it made sense that he had constantly claimed to be broke. And yet, he never spoke about it—not even to our family.”
”That, too, was an act of atonement,” Noah replied. “Your ancestors took the lives of many women. To balance that, your brother saved women and their unborn children. His soul must have understood the need to atone for your lineage’s past sins.”
”I see… Actually, my youngest brother suffers from a mental disorder. Is that also a form of retribution?”
”Yes. That, too, is due to the lingering resentment in your family’s bloodline. The women who were murdered carried immense anger and sorrow, cursing your lineage with thoughts like, ‘You will never find happiness.’ That resentment has taken root in your family, manifesting in your youngest brother as mental illness. His suffering is another form of atonement.”
Giovanni then spoke in a solemn, heavy tone.
”When I was seven years old, I witnessed my grandfather being shot to death right in front of me. Even though World War II had officially ended, Nazi soldiers executed him. The shock was so overwhelming that I was unable to speak for three months. Since then, I have had a stutter. Even now, my speech is difficult to understand. I’m sorry.”
Noah listened attentively, responding with warmth in his voice.
”That was an enormous trauma. I feel for you. But that, too, is connected to your family’s karma. The sins of your ancestors affected your life in this way. Just as they had to hide their crimes, you were left speechless by the trauma of witnessing your grandfather’s murder. Everything is interconnected. Energy flows deeply between past and present.”
Giovanni nodded quietly and continued.
”My father also suffered from an illness and underwent treatment involving leeches to drain his blood. Everything in my family seems to revolve around blood… We even had instances where blood mysteriously seeped from the walls and floors. I always felt there was a dark past connected to it all. But I never imagined such a tragic history lay behind it.”
Noah took a deep breath and spoke gently.
”It truly is a tragic history. But now, I understand why I came to Italy. My purpose here is to break this chain of suffering. To cleanse the accumulated pain and resentment within this bloodline—once and for all.”
Giovanni nodded deeply, his expression reflecting a sense of relief. It was as if, at that very moment, a glimmer of hope had appeared to end the long-standing cycle of suffering.
Noah then turned to Giovanni and Edoardo and spoke solemnly.
”Elisabeth Báthory appeared and said, ‘Thank you.’ With that, the centuries-old curse has finally come to an end. The Blood Countess herself has been freed, as have the spirits of the women she once murdered. In life, the Countess lived in a world of cruelty and madness, but after death, she was forced to face the truth of her actions. In the spirit realm, one’s past deeds are reflected like a mirror, an unavoidable reality. She had been bound by the immense hatred and sorrow of the women she killed, but today, that dark energy has been purified and released. And it’s not just her—your family, and your ancestors, have now been freed from this karmic curse. The long-unresolved mystery of your lineage has been solved. Today, the chain of the curse is finally broken.”
Tears welled in Giovanni’s eyes as he took a deep breath and spoke with emotion.
”This was an unbelievably tragic and heavy story. I never imagined my family carried such deep sorrow and suffering. Thanks to you, Noah, I finally feel at peace. If I had never met you, this cycle of grief would have continued endlessly.”
His voice trembled, but his gratitude was clear.
”Thank you. Truly, thank you. Because of you, not only our family but also our ancestors have been set free. I finally feel that we can move forward into a new future.”
Listening to Giovanni’s words, Edoardo nodded, tears streaming down his face.
A quiet air of relief and gratitude filled the space—one that transcended sadness, marking the end of a long-standing tragedy. And in that moment, as the curse unraveled, both men felt a profound sense of closure.
Later, Noah shared another revelation.
Elisabeth Báthory—the Blood Countess—had cruelly sacrificed young women in her reign of terror. But when she targeted noblewomen, the Habsburg family took immediate action, sending their army to surround her castle and bring an end to her atrocities. The captive women were freed, and the Countess herself was sentenced to life imprisonment. In other words, it was the Habsburg family who put an end to her reign of terror.
Looking back at recent events, an intriguing parallel emerged: once again, it was a descendant of the Habsburg family who had saved the Báthory lineage.
Noah revealed that Edoardo was actually a descendant of the Habsburg family. And it was Edoardo who brought Giovanni to Noah, leading to the liberation of the cursed lineage.
The symmetry was astonishing—once again, the Habsburg bloodline had intervened to break the curse.
Energy always works in mysterious and profound ways.
